The picturesque fishing village of Crail is situated on the east coast of Scotland, in the county of Fife. The curved breakwater, providing shelter from the Forth, dates back to the 16th century. The straight west pier was built by Robert Stevenson in 1826. Stevenson was a lighthouse engineer, whose many noteworthy achievements were somewhat overshadowed by his grandson Robert Louis Stevenson of literary fame. Crail is home to Fife’s crab and lobster fleet, and subject to tide and weather, sea-fresh shellfish can be bought by visitors from the harbour side. As with all Gibsons jigsaws, the beautifully illustrated pieces are made from the highest quality 100% recycled board and are therefore a pleasure to work with again and again.
