Face danger and adventure once again as you search high and low for the most valuable treasures the Caribbean has to offer, then quickly find a safe harbor to stash the priceless gold, rare emeralds, and iridescent pearls. Explore, accumulate cargo, hire crews, and commandeer rival ships, but don't forget to bury your loot. As you sail, look for a place to settle down once your life on the high seas is over, but before that, you must outsmart your opponents, because one voyage around the Caribbean will not be enough. You must make three voyages to retire as the richest and greatest buccaneer of all time.

Pirates of Maracaibo is a standalone game set in the same universe as Maracaibo (published in 2019) although it is more easily accessible. In three rounds, buccaneers and pirates visit numerous Caribbean islands with their ships and recruit allies along the way. They capture their rivals' ships, undertake expeditions and bury treasures. They must acquire the right cards, skillfully use the dice and develop their fleet.
