Welcome to the Roaring Twenties! Gatsby is a two-player game in which you take on the role of Dorothy Williams or James Miller, competing to spread their influence and attract the attention of the great Jay Gatsby.

There are three locations on the board, each offering different opportunities to obtain character tiles: the Cabaret, the Financial Center, and the Racetrack. To claim these characters, each player must take turns moving the action marker to one of the four action spaces—but not the one taken by their opponent—and then activating it.

These actions allow you to place two influence tokens on one or two spaces, allowing you to claim characters in different ways, depending on the location. In the Cabaret, your tokens must form a continuous line from one side of the board to the other or cover the four-star icons at the same time. In the Financial Center, influence allows you to climb the track. On the track, your tokens are placed in races, with the aim of being the player with the most tokens on that race line when it's full.

Across the three locations, certain special spaces on the board give you bonuses when you place a token on them: swap two tokens on the board, force your opponent to perform a specific action, or gain a special action tile!

A player wins immediately if they control three characters of the same color or one character of each of the five colors. If all the character tiles in a single location have been claimed before any of these conditions are met, the player with the most stars on their characters wins.
