Game Principle

The time of rivalries is over! At the height of their glory, the once-opposed Cities now join forces to build a magnificent Capital together and honor the gods.

Erect splendid Divine Altars dedicated to the protectors of the Capital, and spread its aura throughout the ancient world. The Architects' goal is to work together to build the Capital and achieve the highest possible score using the best strategy. You will therefore need to combine your strengths and play cooperatively.

Setup

Players choose one scenario together from the three available: Corinth, Sparta, or Athens, each offering an increasing level of difficulty. Each player receives a starting tile, while the remaining tiles form the heart of the Capital, placed on the playing area. Three Architectural Challenge tiles are revealed, along with their corresponding Divine Altars. Players also receive two Stone cubes and three City tiles, to be kept in hand like cards. Unlike the base game, there is no river.

Turn Play

On their turn, each player can:

Add a tile to their City to complete an Architectural Challenge and win a Divine Altar.

Contribute to the construction of the Capital by placing their tile in the center of the playing area, which will score points at the end of the game.

At the end of the turn, a tile is drawn to ensure players always have 3 in hand.

Architectural Challenges & Divine Altars

Each completed Challenge allows a Divine Altar to be placed in the Capital. In this expansion, spaces function differently: for a Space to count at the end of the game, an Altar must be built there in honor of Hestia, Hermes, Ares, Zeus, or Demeter, depending on the Space's color.

End of Game

The game ends when all City tiles have been played. Only Squares in the Capital adorned with a Divine Altar are valid and count towards the score. Personal Cities do not award any points. The final score is compared to that of the chosen Scenario.

Managing Stones, coordinating placements, and anticipating Challenges are essential for achieving collective victory.
